Joyce (Brincken) Wisler passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, in Sacramento, Calif. Joyce was born May 15, 1931, to Fritz and Edith Brincken of Potlatch.
She graduated from Potlatch High School and then from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, before getting her advanced degree from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Joyce taught and was a counselor for several high schools in Washington and California. She loved the water and spent a lot of time on the Mexico-Baja Peninsula, where she taught English to children and adults wanting to learn the American language.
The farm life she was raised with never left her. She loved all animals and always had her dogs and kittens and many strays that she cared for. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Edith Brincken, and both of her children, Danny of California, and Sarah of Oregon. She has five grandchildren in Oregon and California and a sister, Carol Thompson, in Potlatch.
