Mrs. Anna Marie Tegland, 79, a member of a pioneer Genesee family and a resident of the area all her life, died Thursday, January 16 at 7 a.m. at Gritman Hospital, Moscow of infirmities.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hove, who came to the Genesee Valley from North Dakota in 1888, she was born July 28, 1889 the eldest of ten children.
She was married in November, 1911, to Arthur Tegland, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Tegland, area pioneers. The couple lived on the Tegland homestead until they moved to Moscow in 1952 after Tegland retired from farming. He died October 3, 1957.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Their only son, Rodney Tegland, died April 7, 1967.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Constance) Hasfurther, Moscow; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Y. Meeke, Moscow, and Mrs. Inger Byrne, Seattle; four brothers, Fred Hove, Genesee; William Hove, Kermit Hove, and Virgil Hove, all Clarkston; two granchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at Short's Chapel, Moscow, Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Christian Oswood, pastor of Genesee Lutheran parishes, officiating.
Burial was at Genesee Valley Lutheran Cemetery.
