William Joseph Stricker, 59, Genesee native and resident there for many years, died at 1:35 a.m. today at Gritman Memorial Hospital. Death was attributed to cancer. He had been ill for over a year.
Stricker was born Aug. 6, 1909 to Henry and Elizabeth Stricker. He attended schools in Genesee and Lewiston.
A welder by trade, he was employed at Genesee for many years and later worked for R. A. Hanson Co. at Palouse.
He married Adeline Dresher, at Genesee Sept. 17, 1946. She survives at the family home.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bryan (Phyllis) Fromdahl, Lewiston; Mrs. Richard (Lillian) Smith, LaGrande, Ore.; and Mrs. Charles (Lola) Coleman, Bend, Ore; five sons, William, Donald and Ronald, Genesee; Terry and John Clarkston, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Nick (Mattie) Bieren, Cottonwood, Idaho and 11 grandchildren.
Stricker was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Genesee.
The body is at Short's Chapel with funeral services pending.
