Mrs. John M. Stanton, 80, a resident of the Genesee area for the past nine years, died suddenly Tuesday, August 27 at 1:45 p.m. at her home here. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Annie Pearl, daughter of Theodore and Sarah Platz, was born August 6, 1888 at Waterville, Minnesota. She moved with her parents to the Moscow area when she was 14 years old, where her father engaged in farming and cabinet making. In 1910 the family moved to Galeta, Montana.
She was married to John M. Stanton on December 23, 1915 at Shelby, Montana. He survives her at the family home. The couple homesteaded and farmed at Galeta, until 1920 when they moved to the Camas Prairie near Craigmont, where they farmed for many years.
Besides her husband, survivors include two sons, John P. Stanton of Kamiah and Donald E. Stanton, of Littleton, Colorado; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Mary) Wright, of Genesee; also 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
