Obituary - Frank G. Schumaker

Frank G. Schumaker, 68, Lewiston

Frank G. Schumaker, a Lewiston resident and retired farmer, died of a heart attack Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital where he had been a patient for a week. He was 68.

Schumaker had been admitted to the hospital for surgery after he broke his hip. The stress of the operation apparently led to the heart attack.

He was born May 5, 1914, at Slickpoo, Idaho, to Joseph G. and Sarah K. Schumaker. He lived there until 1942, and attended Slickpoo and Culdesac schools.

From 1942 until 1957, he was parts manager for the Lorenz Garage in Lewiston. From 1957 until 1977, he farmed at Deary. Upon retirement, he moved to Clarkston and lived there until moving to Lewiston last year.

He married Myrtle M. Watson April 16, 1948, at Clarkston. She survives him at the family home, 917 Preston Ave., No. 9, Lewiston.

Other survivors include two daughters, Karen Odman of Pendleton, and Suzann Bigham of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Harry of Spokane and Lawrence of Lewiston; five sisters, Martha Taylor of Centralia, Wash., Helen Stamey of Lewiston, Alice Kaufmann of Lewiston, Clara Tweedy of Lewiston, and Rita Parlet of Pomeroy; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Normal Hill Cemetery, the Rev. Charles Foltz of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church officiating. Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
