Retired Plumber Archie Ryker Dies at Gritman

Archie Edward Ryker, 64, a resident of Genesee since 1965, died yesterday at Gritman Hospital of emphysema.

Ryker, a retired plumber, was employed at Washington State University for about ten years. He previously had worked for Zinn's Plumbing and Miller Bros. Plumbing and Heating in Lewiston.

He was born Sept. 17, 1912, in Vollmer, now part of Craigmont, to Noah Jacob and Mabel Ryker. He spent his childhood there, then resided in Orofino until 1938.

From 1938 until 1965 he resided in the Lewiston-Clarkston area. He moved to Genesee in 1965.

Ryker married Genevieve Teichmer Aug. 10, 1968, in Bonners Ferry. She survives him at the family home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Beverly Thon, Phyllis Robinson, both of Lewiston; a son, Thomas, address unavailable; a brother, Floyd, Lewiston; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Malcom's Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel, Lewiston. The Rev. Robert L. Compton of the Lewiston Orchards Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Vineland Cemetery, Clarkston.
