Ellis Odberg Of Genesee Dies On Visit To Portland

Ellis Odberg, 90, a retired Genesee farmer, died yesterday morning at 7 at Portland while he and his wife were visiting at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ann Martino.

Odberg was born Jan. 15, 1883, to Mr. and Mrs. Mattias Odberg, who farmed near Genesee. He attended schools there and began farming in 1902, retiring in 1946 when a son assumed operation of the family farm. He married the former Lillian Olsen at Troy, Ida., in 1920.

Except for a brief stay at Lewiston, Odberg lived near Genesee his entire life.

Survivors besides Mrs. Martino include his widow at the family home at Genesee; a daughter, Mrs. Lillian I. Weatherford of Albany, Ore.; a son, Ellis J. Odberg of Genesee, and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted tomorrow at 11 .m. at the Genesee Valley Lutheran Church, with the Rev. William Leed officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under direction of Brower-Wann Funeral Home of Lewiston.

Ellis Odberg Buried Saturday

GENESEE -- Ellis Odberg, 90, a retired Genesee farmer was buried Saturday at Genesee following a graveside funeral with the Rev. William Leed, Genesee Valley Lutheran Church, officiating. Odberg died Thursday at Portland.

Pallbearers were Melvin Stewart and Thomas Duffy of Lewiston, Ed Morken Jr., Michael Odberg and D.F. Scharnhorst, all of Genesee, and Mark Weatherford of Albany, Ore.
