John Moser, 86, Passes May 12

John J. Moser, 86, a retired area farmer and veteran of WWI died Sunday morning at the Lewiston Convalescent Center. Death was due to infirmities. He had been ill three months.

He had lived at Lewiston since 1961, the year he retired from farming at Genesee.

Moser was born Nov. 28, 1887 at Oaks, S.D., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank X. Moser.

He moved with his parents to Colton in 1891 and lived there until moving to Genesee in 1931.

He served in the U.S. Army in France and Germany between 1917 and 1919.

He married the former Theresa M. Kopf at Colton May 6, 1921. She died August 13, 1939.

Moser was a communicant of St. James Catholic church, Lewiston.

He is survived by two sons, Gilbert J. Moser and Gerald A. Moser, both of Lewiston; a daughter, Delores A. Flerchinger, Genesee; a brother Anthony Moser, Colton; and two sisters, Mary Lettenmaier, Genesee and Martha Yost, Pullman.

Rosary was held Tuesday evening at 7:30 at Vassar-Rawls Chapel. A requiem mass was celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gall's Catholic church, Colton. The Rev. Fr. Cornelius VerDoorn officiated.

Burial in Colton cemetery.
