Bill Duane Magee, Genesee farmer

GENESEE -- Bill Duane Magee, a farmer who had spent most of his life in Genesee, died Tuesday of asphyxiation in a fire at this home. He was 37.

Magee was born March 2, 1944, to George and Edna Magee at Kendrick. The family moved to Genesee in 1950. He graduated from Genesee High School in 1962.

In 1963, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam war. He returned to Genesee after his discharge in 1967.

Magee was a member and past Master of the Masonic Unity Lodge No. 32 in Genesee, a member of the Genesee American Legion and the Genesee Community Church.

He is survived by his parents, George and Edna Magee of Lewisotn; an uncle, Fred Magee of Connell, Wash; and an aunt, Jo Dirkse of Columbus, Ohio.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Genesee Community Church, Rev. Roger Herndon of the church officiating. burial will follow at the Genesee Masonic Lodge and the Genesee American Legion conducting committal services.

Memorials may be made to the Genesee Ambulance Fund or the Genesee American Legion.

Short's Funeral Chapel at Moscow is in charge of arrangements.
