Harley L. Lyons, 92

Harley L. Lyons, 92, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Guardian Angel Homes in Lewiston.

He was born to Lloyd Lyons and Sylvia Birch July 12, 1919, in Moscow. He was the oldest of five children.

Harley married Dec. 26, 1941, in Moscow. They had three sons.

After graduating from Moscow High School, Harley served four years with the U.S. Army, receiving a master sergeant status.

In 1947 he went to work for Washington Water Power Co. in Moscow. In 1960 he transferred to Spokane and served as residential consumer representative. He moved to Clarkston in 1965 and served as regional manager until his retirement.

Harley was president of Toastmasters and Moscow Jr. Chamber of Commerce. He belonged to Asotin and Clarkston chambers of commerce and Clarkston Rotary. He was also a member of the Small Business Advisory Board for S.B.A. for nine years with the Washington State Roads Assn. Harley was on the Executive Board of Directors at Ti-State Memorial Hospital for 15 years.

After 35-1/2 years with Washington Water Power Co., Harley retired so he could do more of the things he loved most: camping, fishing, boating and traveling many miles in their motor home. He especially loved time spent with family and friends.

Preceding him in death were two sons, Doug and Gary; one brother and one sister. Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years; his son and wife; his sister and husband; brother and wife; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
