Ronald J. Klimko, Ph.D., 75, died suddenly Sunday, March 18, 2012, of natural causes at the Brundage Mountain Ski Resort near McCall. He was Professor of Music (bassoon) at the University of Idaho from 1967 to 1999. He and his wife had retired to McCall in 2003, but moved to Issaquah, Wash., for health reasons in June 2011.
He is survived by his wife; three sons; a daughter; and two stepdaughters; a brother; and a sister. He left five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A musical celebration of his life will be conducted July 14 at the Haddock Concert Hall on the UI campus. Please send gifts in his memory to the Ronald J. Klimko Memorial Scholarship Fund, University of Idaho Foundation. Condolences to C. Klimko, P.O. Box 441, McCall, ID 83638.
