Harold S. Judson, 80, passed away late Tuesday evening, Nov. 29, 2011, at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow.
Harold was born Dec. 14, 1930, to Lyle H. and Eva J. (Barr) Judson at Colfax. He attended his early schooling at the Highland one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Plummer High School in 1949.
Harold joined the U.S. Army Feb. 12, 1952, and served in the Korean War. He was discharged Oct. 24, 1953, as a corporal.
He married Amy Horn June 10, 1955, at Potlatch, and the couple made their home at DeSmet, Idaho. Amy Judson died in 1987.
He re-married Dec. 9, 1988, at Coeur d'Alene, and the couple made their home at Sanders, Idaho. Mr. Judson over his life was employed at the Potlatch mill, C.B. Logging at Princeton, worked for the Benewah County Road District for several years, and Pacific Crown Timber Products at Plummer, when he retired in 1995.
Harold enjoyed raising cattle, taking care of his ranch at Sanders, hunting, fishing, traveling and woodworking. He was a member of the Potlatch Post 10300 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Odd Fellows Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 23 years; three sons and and their wives; two stepsons; a daughter and her husband; stepdaughter and her husband; a brother; a sister; 23 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Jodi Judson.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Freeze Church in Potlatch. The Potlatch Post 10300 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the U.S. Army Honor Guard participating. Urn burial will be at the Freeze Cemetery.
