Laura Agusta Johnson, 85, Genesee

POST FALLS -- Services for Laura Agusta Johnson, a farm wife at Genesee for most of her life, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church at Genesee. The Rev. Thomas McCurdy will officiate, and burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson, 85, died of causes incident to aging Sunday evening at her home here.

She was born June 3, 1897, at Blue Earth, Minn., to William and Caroline Rosenau. She came west with her parents and on June 6, 1922, married Olof V. Johnson at Genesee. He preceded her in death in 1980.

The couple farmed outside Genesee most of their lives. They retired in 1971 and moved to Lewiston, and then moved to Post Falls in 1975 to live with their son, Donald Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars charter at Lewiston, and the World War I Veterans Auxiliary.

The family suggests that memorials be given to St. John's Lutheran Church or to the Idaho Youth Ranch.

Short's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
