The Idahonian has received word of the death of Ernest Carl Johnson, 72, a Genesee native and a former resident of Moscow.
Johnson died Monday at St. Luke's hospital in Spokane.
He was born in the Genesee Valley, Jan. 14, 1902, to August and Ida Johnson. He married Carmelita Nibler in 1926. She died in 1970, and he married Mrs. Edna Kausmannin last year.
Johnson, a reitred worker for the Northern Pacific Railroad, left Moscow about 25 years ago.
Survivors include his wife Edna; two sons, Darrell and Jack; one daughter, Mrs. Donna Cook, all of Spokane; a step-daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Kaufman of Portland; two brothers, Olaf of Lewiston; George of Juliaetta; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Huntbach and Mrs. Hattie Kimberling, both of Moscow; Mrs. Ethel Posivio of Genesee; Mrs. Mabel Hillman of Clarkston; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Servrvices [sic] are set at St. Joseph's Church at Opportunity, Wash., at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rosary will be said Friday evening at the Haezer [sic] and Jaeger Funeral Home in Spokane.
