Shirley Kay Hull-Hord, 65, of Troy, died at her home Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, with her family at her side.
Shirley was born April 2, 1946, at Wenatchee, to Warren L. and Velma Sprague Hull. She grew up and went to school at Waterville, Wash. She and Ivan L. Jeffers were married in Waterville June 5, 1961, where they made their home. The couple had three daughters prior to his death in 1971. She and her daughters then moved to Ephrata, Wash., where Shirley worked to complete her GED classes and earned her CNA certification and began working at the hospital. She moved to Moscow in 1981 and worked at Good Samaritan and later for Gritman Home Health and Hospice. Most recently, Shirley had enjoyed working at Christopher and Banks Clothing Store at the Palouse Mall. She enjoyed spending time at Elk River, camping, huckleberrying and spending time with family and friends. She never knew a stranger; they were all friends. Other favorite pastimes include knitting, crocheting, sewing and bowling. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, but her greatest love was her grandchildren.
She re-married at Elk River July 14, 1990. He survives at their home in Troy. A lso surviving are three daughters; one son-in-law; three stepchildren; her 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Short's Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bob Parker of Trinity Baptist Church will officiate. A reception will follow at the Eagles Lodge on Main Street. There will be a private graveside service Monday at the Waterville Cemetery in Waterville.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Troy Ambulance Fund, or to a hospice organization of one's choice.
