A memorial service for Nancy A. Hilgers, 74, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Freeze Church in Potlatch. Burial will follow at the Freeze Cemetery. Nancy passed away early Friday morning Jan. 13, 2012, at the Ashley Inn Assisted Living in Vancouver, Wash.
She was born May 13, 1937, at Potlatch, to Leo C. and Lora (McCown) Nowack. She attended the Potlatch schools and graduated from the Potlatch High School in 1955.
Nancy's favorite interests growing up were her 4-H activities, where she was an award-winning member and contributed much over the years. She loved her parents and brothers and sisters and her experience of growing up on the farm with her family was a treasure to her in so many ways.
Nancy received her real estate license in 1980 and worked for Stan Wiley Inc. and Prudential NW properties. She worked until 2008 and received numerous awards over the span of her lengthy career. She was well respected and admired by her colleagues and peers and will be missed by many friends that she made along the way.
Survivors include her son; daughter; two sisters; two grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Kramer Funeral Home of Palouse is handling the arrangements.
