Obituary - Daisy Hendrix

Daisy Hendrix, 87, a resident of Onaway, passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 13, 2012, at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow.

She was born Aug. 3, 1925, at Viola, to Lewis C. and Sarah J. (Rothwell) Chaney. She attended her schooling at Viola and Palouse schools.

She married James A. Hendrix on Sept. 16, 1942, at Moscow. The couple lived in the Seattle area and Lewiston, where her husband worked as a meat cutter for area supermarkets before moving to the Onaway and Potlatch area in 1986. Mr. Hendrix passed away in 2011. Daisy enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, cards and most of all her family.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Joyce V. Jones at the family home; as well as her two sons, Dennis Hendrix and his wife Mary Ann, and David Hendrix and his wife Linda; and one daughter, Connie Jones, all of Onaway. She is also survived by 16 more grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Northrup; granddaughter, Tracy Tannahill; and an infant daughter.

An urn burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Freeze Cemetery in Potlatch, followed by a covered-dish dinner at the Lions Club covered shelter area across from the Potlatch Elementary School.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund, Box 63, Potlatch, ID 83855. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse is handling the arrangements.
