Obituary - Roy C. Heimgartner

Roy C. Heimgartner, 79, longtime of Juliaetta

The funeral for Roy Curtis Heimgartner, longtime Juliaetta resident, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Malcom's Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel in Lewiston. Burial will follow at Fix Ridge Cemetery at Juliaetta.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 5 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.

Heimgartner, 79, died of causes related to age Friday morning at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 13, 1919, on Fix Ridge to Robert and Bessie Heimgartner. He graduated from Juliaetta High School.

After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he married Ardythe Lindor on July 20, 1951, in Colfax. They farmed on Potlatch Ridge. She died Sept. 12, 1990.

He served on the Lewiston Grain Growers Board of Directors from 1969 to 1979. He enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's' sporting events.

His survivors include two sons, Lee Heimgartner of Juliaetta and Dale Heimgartner of Sandpoint; three sisters, LaVern Harri and Lillie McCall, both of Clarkston and Betty Surbough of Othello, Wash.; a brother, Wayne Heimgartner of Juliaetta; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his wife, four brothers, Lawrence, Leslie, Everett and Elmer Heimgartner, preceded him in death.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Shriners Children's Hospital or the Juliaetta-Kendrick Ambulance.
