Robert (Bob) John Headrick, 55, of Yamhill, Ore., passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, along Ginger Creek in the Coast Range Mountains while trail riding with friends.
He was born Oct. 8, 1956, in Moscow. He grew up in Moscow, graduating from Moscow High School in 1974. He worked as a motorcycle mechanic for 15 years in Moscow, Spokane, Bozeman, Mont., and Beaverton, Ore. He returned to school and in 1991 he graduated from Portland Community College with an associate degree in civil engineering. He earned his professional civil engineering license and worked as a design engineer and project manager for several engineering firms around the Portland metropolitan area.
Bob was an avid motorcyclist, riding both street and trail bikes. He loved camping, the outdoors, learning and working with computers and photography. He was a gifted carpenter and enjoyed designing and building virtually anything, including custom-built furniture. He was a member of the Yamhill Planning Commission and other professional organizations.
He met his future wife in Bozeman and they were married April 18, 1992, at the Flying M Ranch outside of Yamhill. He is survived by his wife of Yamhill; a daughter; two grandchildren; his mother; one sister; one brother; two nieces; two nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister; a brother; and a granddaughter.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Macy and Son of McMinville, Ore., with private interment.
