Obituary - Esther J. Hanson

Esther J. Hanson, 67 Passes in Arizona

Esther J. Hanson, 67, Tucson, Arizona, and a Lewiston resident from 1945 to 1969, died September 25, at the Arizona city. Death was due to cancer.

A native of Genesee, Mrs. Hanson was the widow of Roy V. Hanson, who died at Tucson July 18, 1970.

She was born Feb. 5, 1907 at Genesee, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Hickman. She married Hanson there Dec. 18, 1929.

They moved to Lewiston from Genesee in 1945. Hanson was employed in construction work and owned and operated a rock crusher at Lewiston.

Mrs. Hanson was a member of the Congregational-Presbyterian church of Lewiston.

Mrs. Hanson is survived by a daughter, Jeaneal (Mrs. A.M.) Gerbel, Dallas; six brothers, David Hickman, Palouse; Marvin Hickman, Longview, Wash.; John Hickman, Genesee; Ormand Hickman, Clarkston; Wayne Hickman, Lewiston, and Bayne Hickman, Denver; two sisters, Harriet Flomer, Lewiston and Carrie Mae Kleweno, Seattle; and one grandson.

A memorial service was held in Tucson Thursday, September 26th.

Funeral services were held Sept. 28 at 1:30 p.m. at Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel, Lewiston. The Rev. Elbert W. Johnston, Congregational Presbyterian (Federated) Church officiating. Organist was Marie Schnider, and Elvon Hampton, soloist.

Casket bearers were all nephews; Gerald Hickman, Robert Hickman, Dale Hickman, William Hickman, Gary Hickman, James Hickman.

Burial in Genesee Valley Lutheran cemetery.
