Eddie C. Halveson, a former resident of Genesee, died Tuesday, Mar. 15 at Spokane, Wa.
He was born August 16, 1897 at Genesee. His parents were pioneers who homesteaded about 6 miles north of town where they farmed. His father was also one of the first pioneers who helped start the Genesee Valley Lutheran Church and cemetery.
He farmed also until he went into business in 1925-1928 at Moscow where he had the Bon Ton confectionary. He then moved to Spokane where he was a deisel [sic] mechanic for Inland Motor Freight, and was a member of the International Association of Mechanics No. 86.
Survivors include his wife Nayva L., and a son, Kenneth at the family home; a sister, Jennie Driscoll, of Moscow, a brother, Ingle Halverson fo Spokane. A sister-in-law, Alma Halverson in Moscow; 1 grandson and one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home in Spokane. Graveside services will be conducted that same day at 3:00 p.m. at the Moscow cemetery.
