Charles Gesellchen, 82, Formerly of Genesee, Dies in California

Charles Gesellchen, a Genesee native passed away August 7 at Santa Cruz of a stroke. He was 82.

He was born November 25, 1899 at Genesee to John and Emma Baumgartner Gesellchen. He attended Genesee schools and graduated form Genesee High School.

He married Ann Garhart a native of Uniontown, on Jan. 17, 1925.

The couple moved to Modesto, Ca. where they operated a fruit ranch for 33 years. Later they moved to Santa Cruz.

Gesellchen was amember of the Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus in both Modesto and Santa Cruz.

He is survived by his wife at the family home at 433 Effey in Santa Cruz; his daughter, Margery Wear of Gilroy, Ca.; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
