Obituary - Sanford E. Evans

Sanford E. (Dick) Evans, 18, Genesee, whose body was found in the Snake River Friday night two miles above Lower Granite Lock and Dam, is survived by a brother and grandparents at Genesee besides his parents.

The survivors include his brother, James, his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Evans, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Danielson.

He was born to Sanford and Beverly Evans, February 16, 1953, at Moscow. He was a member of the Genesee Valley Lutheran Church.

The funeral service was conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home, in Lewiston. Officiating was the Rev. Christian Oswood of the Genesee Valley Lutheran Church. Organist was Mrs. Vonley Miller of Lewiston, and vocalist was Mrs. Martin Stout of Uniontown.

Pallbearers were Mike Myers, Dick Green, Dan Diehl, Garry Esser, Mike Egland, and Ray Morscheck. Burial was at Normal Hill cemetery.

Funeral Rites Held For Dick Evans, 18

GENESEE -- Services were held today for Sanford (Dick) Evans, Jr., 18, whose body was found in the Snake River Friday night two miles above Lower Granite Lock and Dam. The services were held at the Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home, with the Rev. Christian Oswood, Genesee Valley Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial followed at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens.

Evans was born to Sanford and Beverly Evans, Feb. 16, 1953 at Moscow. He was a member of the Genesee Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his parents; his brother, James Evans; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Evans, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Danielson all of Genesee.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
