Mandel B. Erickson, 92, Moscow

MOSCOW -- Mandel Benidot Erickson, a retired barber, died at Gritman Memorial Hospital early Sunday morning. He was 92.

He was born Feb. 3, 1889 at Helena, Mont., to Andrew and Amanda Erickson.

Erickson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Moscow Grange and the Old Time Fiddlers.

He married Amanda Gutches at Lewiston, Dec. 22, 1922. She survives him at their Moscow home.

He is also survived by four daughters, Helen Kingsford of Soda Springs, Edith Clegg of Spokane, Norma Groom of Hawthorne, Nev., and Barbara Jean Sever of Moses Lake, Wash.; three sons, Rienhold Erickson of Spokane, and Eddie and Charlie Erickson, both of Orange, Calif.; three sisters, Viola Schenk of Wenatchee, Lillian Jacobs of Pasco and Esther Sarkinoff of Spokane; 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be Wednesday at 1:30 pm at the Moscow LDS Church. Bishop Lynn J. Skinner will officiate. Burial will be at the Moscow Cemetery. Short's Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
