Mary Cunningham Succumbs June 1

Mary Wardrobe Cunningham passed away Monday, June 1, 1964 after an illness of many months.

She was the daughter of pioneer parents, Andrew and Isabell Wardrobe, and was born October 9, 1882 near Pine Grove where the family resided for many years. At the time of her death she was 81 years and seven months of age.

Mrs. Cunningham spent the greater part of her life teaching in Idaho and Washington Public Schools, having taught at Genesee, Palouse, Garfield, Wenatchee, and the last 25 years of her teaching was in Spokane schools.

She was married to William Cunningham, June 29, 1944, who passed away on October 21st, 1953.

She was a member of the Genesee Community Church and Eastern Star.

Four brothers and four sisters have preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Bogart, of Coulee City, Washington and Mrs. Jessie Blackburn of Bremerton, Washington; three brothers, Bruce, of Lewiston, Idaho, and Melvin and Dewey of Genesee, Idaho, and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Mrs. Cunningham will be held Saturday, June 6th at 2 p.m. from the Community Church with the Rev. Lowell Messley, pastor of the church, officiating.

Pallbearers, David Spurbeck, Dave Hickman, Dick Mullen, and John Wardrobe, nephews, and Mahlon Follett and Tom Boyd.

Interment in Genesee City Cemetery.
