Virginia Mae Colvin

A memorial service for Virginia Mae Colvin, 83, of Potlatch, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday at the Elmore United Methodist Church north of Potlatch. Mrs. Colvin passed away Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 24, 2012, at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow.

Mae was born May 18, 1928, to Clarence E. and Martha (Eynon) Price at Missoula, Mont. She attended her schooling in Dixon, Mont.

She married in Montana and the couple later divorced. She moved to Walla Walla, where she attended a beauty college.

She married Otis Colvin April 28, 1958, at Renton, Wash., and the couple moved to Lewiston and later to Potlatch in 1965. Mae owned and operated Mae's Beauty Salon in Potlatch at her home from 1966 to 1977. The couple also worked at Laird Park near Harvard, where they maintained the campgrounds during the summer months from 1988 to 1997. Mr. Colvin died in 1999.

Mae was a member of the Working Women and a former member of the Royal Neighbors. She enjoyed bead work, fishing and working crossword puzzles.

Survivors include two sons; three daughters; and brother. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Sloan and David Sloan.

Memorials may be given to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund, Box 63, Potlatch, ID 83855.
