Beverly Bernice Colvin, 86, of Moscow, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, surrounded by her family at Good Samaritan Village in Moscow.
Beverly was born Feb. 8, 1925, at Klamath Falls, Ore., to Victor and Lola Mae (Brookfield) Olson. She attended schools in Oregon, California and Idaho, finishing her education at White Bird.
After sneaking away from a school picnic to elope, she married Gaylord Colvin Jr. May 15, 1941, at Council, Idaho. They were married for 60 years.
The couple made their home near White Bird, where she was a homemaker and mother. Nony, as she was known by her family, worked part-time as a clerk at the White Bird Post Office but preferred being at home. She and Gaylord spent a lot of their time with hobbies, such as basket-weaving, making cheese, wine making and oil painting. She was a wonderful cook and also enjoyed knitting, spinning wool, crocheting and was an avid card player. Their greatest times were at Cascade Lake with their friends, where they spent summers in their RV at Sugarloaf for nearly 10 years. When Gaylord's health deteriorated they moved to Lewiston.
She is survived by her daughter; four grandchildren, along with her beloved daughter-in-law; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord; son Jim; her parents; and her four siblings.
At Beverly's request, no formal services are planned and her urn will be interred with Gaylord's at the White Bird Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to "The Dreamers" in care of C&R Inc., 1107 S. Logan St., Moscow, ID 83843.
