Obituary - Albert Clemenhagen

Albert 'Jess' Clemenhagen, 75, Kendrick

Albert 'Jess' Clemenhagen, 75, of Kendrick, passed away Sunday Sept. 25, 2011, after a long battle with cancer.

Jess was born Nov. 11, 1935, in Kendrick, to Robert and Blanche Clemenhagen. He grew up in Kendrick with his two sisters.

After graduating from Kendrick High School, Jess worked at his father's service station, Bob's Garage in Kendrick. Jess eventually purchased Bob's Garage and operated it until he retired.

Jess met the love of his life, Wilda Halen, in February 1955 at a Grange dance. They were married 2 years later on Sept. 21, 1957. In the 53 years they were married, Jess and Wilda raised three boys and were the proud grandparents of 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Jess will be remembered fondly by his family for spending time outdoors, camping, riding four-wheelers, hunting, fishing, picking huckleberries, and spending time in his shop doing woodworking projects. He had a deep love for listening to and playing old country music. Jess loved to grow vegetables in his garden and enjoyed watching many bird species at his handmade bird feeders.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Clemenhagen; his mother, Blanche Clemenhagen; stepmother, Ida Clemenhagen; wife, Wilda Clemenhagen; son, Robert Clemenhagen; sister, Violet Porter; and grandson, Saxon Clemenhagen.

Jess is survived by his sister; two sons; one daughter-in-law; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Jess was greatly loved and will be missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Kendrick. A covered-dish dinner to celebrate Jess' life will follow at the Juliaetta Centennial Park in Juliaetta.

Remembrances are suggested to the Juliaetta-Kendrick ambulance fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home Chapel in Lewiston. Online condolences may be made at www.malcomsfuneralhome.com under the web memorials tab.
