Frank Broemeling, Retired Carpenter, Dies At Clarkston Hospital Of Cancer

Frank F. Broemeling, 70, Lapwai, a native of Genesee and a retired carpenter, died at 7:15 last night at Tri-State Memorial Hospital, Clarkston. Death was due to cancer.

Broemeling had lived at Lapwai since 1958, when he returned to this area from Fairbanks, Alaska, where he had worked as a carpenter.

He was a long-time member of the Moose Lodge and the Fairbanks Carpenters Union.

Broemeling was born Oct. 9, 1898, at Genesee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Broemeling. He lived at Genesee until 1919, when he moved to Cudogen, Alta., where he resided until 1934. He was a resident of Clarkston from 1934 to 1950, when he moved to Fairbanks. He moved to Lapwai in 1958.

Broemeling married Bonnie Summers at Provost, Alta., Oct. 9, 1922. They were divorced in 1942 and he married Mrs. Josephine Kern of Coeur d'Alene, November, 1956.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Lois) Cummings, Clarkston; three sons, Glenn H. Broemeling, Lewiston; Ronald C. Broemeling, Clarkston and Francis Boyd, Columbus, Ohio; four step-daughters, Mrs. Ann M. Christenson, Seattle, Mrs. Leona Claus, Lewiston, Mrs. Kathleen Picavet, Clarkston, and Mrs. Barbara Wyatt, Orofino; a stepson, Lloyd Kern, Culdesac; two brothers, Gerhardt Broemeling, Provost, Alta, and Joseph Broemeling, Moscow; 30 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Brower-Wann Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens.
