W. O. Borgen, 79, Dies of Heart Attack

W. O. "Bill" Borgen, 79, a former Genesee farmer who had lived in Lewiston since his retirement in 1969 died May 28th at St. Joseph's hospital apparently of a heart attack. He had been ill three months.

He was born July 6, 1894 at Genesee where he lived most of his life. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Anton Borgen. He married Hilma I. Hanson at Genesee, May 17, 1922.

He was a member of the Vally Lutheran church at Genesee; belonged to the Idaho Pea & Lentil Growers Association and was a member of the Genesee Farmers Union.

Survivors include his widow at the family home; three daughters, Carol J. McKay of Lewiston; Arlene Simmons of Quincy, Washington and Sandra Reams of Alder Grove, B.C.; two sons, Don Borgen of Chicago and Wayne Borgen of Alder Grove, and eight grandchildren.

The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Malcom's Brower-Wann Chapel by the Rev. Wm. Leed of the Genesee Valley Lutheran Church. Burial followed at Valley Lutheran cemetery.
