Florence I. Bennett Passes January 29

Mrs. Florence Isadore Bennett, 86, a resident of Genesee since 1939, passed away at 1:30 am. Monday morning, January 29 at the Latah Convalescent Center, Moscow.

She was born May 1, 1886 at Fontanelle, Iowa, to James A. and Ruth (Daugherty) Browning. On February 23, 1906, she married William P. Gorman at Redfield, South Dakota. He passed away in 1921. She married Loren J. Bennett at Billings, Montana on July 22, 1922. He died in April of 1938.

Mrs. Bennett had made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Bennett. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include the daughter, Mrs. H.E. (Evelyn) Bennett, Genesee; two sons, Gale Bennett, Anchorage, Alaska and Clarke Bennett of San Diego, California; a sister, Mrs. Effie Cadieux of Alameda, California; four grandsons and one granddaughter. Also thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

The funeral service was conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Church with the Rev. Peter D. Unruh officiating. Burial in the Genesee City Cemetery.

Larry Gee, soloist sang, "In the Garden," and "The Old Rugged Cross." Accompanist, Ruby Ames.

Pallbearers were C.D. Manfred, Pullman; and D.F. Scharnhorst, Estil Carbuhn, Robert Broemeling, Chet Green and Gene Woodruff.

Shorts, of Moscow, was in charge of the arrangements.
