Helen Baldus Of Genesee Dies at 83

Helen Ann Baldus, a long-time resident of Genesee, died Friday at Paradise Villa, where she has been a resident since January 1975. She was 83.

One of eleven children, Mrs. Baldus was born to George and Gertrude Fruth April 19, 1894, in Albany, Minn. She came to Idaho in 1927 and married Otto Baldus July 7, 1931, in Lewiston.

The couple farmed in the Genesee area until Baldus retired in 1954. He preceded his wife in death in 1957.

Mrs. Baldus was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Genesee. She was also a life-member of St. Mary's Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include: a son, John of Genesee; a daughter, Catherine Kelleher of Spokane; a brother, Andrew Fruth of St. Cloud, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Schiebel of Minneapolis, Minn., and Miss Ann Fruth of Albany, Minn., and five grandchildren.

Rosary will be conducted tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Church. The funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the same church with Father Edward Cope officiating. Burial will follow at the Genesee Catholic Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be sent to the Genesee ambulance fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
