Grace H. Arnold, 83, Lewiston

Grace H. Arnold went Last Page to be with her Lord on Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2011. She passed away at Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston, following complications of a fall.

Gracie was born in Easton, Pa., on June 15, 1927, to Harry and Carrie Hester. She was the youngest of three children. She married the love of her life on June 28, 1947. They met after he returned Last Page from serving his country in Europe during World War II. The couple resided in Bethlehem, Pa., from 1957 until 1995, when they relocated to Genesee.

In April 2009, they moved to assisted living at Juniper Meadows in Lewiston. The level of personal caring and outpouring of love from the staff at Juniper to Gracie and her husband will forever be appreciated. On June 28, 2010, the couple celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.

Gracie graduated from Wilson High School in 1945, and went to work as a secretary. One of her favorite jobs after she retired was to be a school crossing guard employed by the City of Bethlehem.

Gracie loved her family passionately. She loved parties and any kind of family celebrations. Her hobbies were reading and making Fisherman's Weave blankets for her family and friends. Gracie loved people and made them smile. She loved her Lord, and showed that love as a member of all the churches she attended. The love of Christ was revealed through Gracie. Few people have touched so many lives as deeply as she did.

Gracie is survived by her husband of Lewiston; a sister; a son and his wife; and a daughter and her husban. She is also survived by six grandsons. Also surviving are her five precious great-grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Congregational Presbyterian Church, 709 Sixth St., Lewiston.
