Obituary - Paul W. Arbuckle

Paul W. Arbuckle, 65, Lewiston native

Paul W. Arbuckle of Lewiston died of cancer Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. He was 65.

He was born April 11, 1934, in Lewiston to Ralph William and Eva M. White Arbuckle. He grew up in the Kendrick and Lenore areas and attended school through the 10th grade at Kendrick. He quit school to work with his uncle, Jess White, at a Lenore farm.

He served in the U.S. Navy for a time.

He left the Lewiston area in the late 1950s and did farming work in Washington and Oregon.

He married Freda Mae Gibson in June 1957 at Pendleton, Ore. They later divorced.

He married Mary Rosalis in 1960 in Morton, Wash., and they divorced in 1964.

In July 1966, he married Fern Zirjacks at Excelsior Springs, Mo. He owned a cab company and restaurant there from 1967 to 1969. They were divorced in 1975.

He married Martha Pate in January 1976 at Lewiston. They were divorced in 1984.

He married Grace Belden at Coeur d'Alene in 1987. She survives in Texas.

He worked as a truck driver for several companies after retiring.

He was a member of the Lewis-Clark Moose Lodge No. 751.

Survivors in addition to his wife include five sons, Dewey W. Arbuckle of Lewiston, Paul R. Arbuckle of Olivehurst, Calif., Ralph Arbuckle and Brian Pate, both of Clarkston, and Walter John Pate of Asotin; two daughters, Eva R. Arbuckle of Olivehurst and Cheryl DeLeon of Marysville, Calif.; two sisters, Betty Stedman of Lewiston and Bonnie Garrison of Shelton, Wash.; and 18 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Arbuckle.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Kendrick Cemetery.
