JULIAETTA -- One woman died and a man was injured in an accident involving a vintage car on American Ridge Road off State Highway 99 near Juliaetta Sunday evening.
Rebecca L. Altman, 57, of Clarkston was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, where she died later in the evening. Carl Johnson, 60, of Troy, Idaho, was treated and released Sunday evening.
They were in a 1929 Ford Model A northbound on American Ridge Road when the driver, who is undetermined at this time, apparently lost control of the vehicle, failed to negotiate a curve and hit an embankment. The vehicle then went airborne and landed on its top in a nearby field, according to the Idaho State Police.
Neither person was wearing a seat belt.
