Elsie Mae Allen, 80, a resident of rural Potlatch, Idaho, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at her Last Page of cancer.

Arrangements are pending at Kramer Funeral Last Page in Palouse, Wash.

Elsie Allen, 80, lifelong resident of the Whitman/Latah county area, died of congestive heart failure at her Last Page in Potlatch, Idaho on Sunday, June 25, 2000, surrounded by her family.

Elsie was born near Palouse on April 29, 1920, to Thomas A. and Ruth Thompson Wysong. She attended the Dailey School for her early education and later attended Palouse schools, graduating in 1938. She married Richard Allen on her birthday in 1939.

Elsie was primarily a Last Pagemaker and mother, although she worked for a number of years at West's Grocery in Palouse, as well as other jobs in the Potlatch-Palouse area.

Elsie is survived by her husband at Last Page in Potlatch and seven children: Virginia Walters of Kenai, Alaska, James of Potlatch, Patricia Weith of Palmer, Alaska, Luann Nelson of Viola, Rebecca Brink of Palouse, Jon of Pullman and Katherine Allen of Anchorage, Alaska; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, James N. Wysong.

At the decedent's request, cremation was immediate. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kramer Funeral Last Page. Pastor Kathy L. Kramer will officiate.

Donations may be made to the Potlatch Library, Scenic Six Park Fund, the Potlatch Ambulance Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
