MOSCOW -- Willie Adams, 88, a longtime resident of the Deary area, died of causes related to age Saturday at Good Samaritan Village Nursing Center in Moscow. Arrangements are pending at Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow.

Willie Adams, 88, longtime of Deary, Juliaetta

MOSCOW -- Willie Adams, 88, a longtime resident of Deary and Juliaetta, died Saturday at Good Samaritan Village Nursing Center in Moscow of causes related to age.

Adams was born June 26, 1911, to John and Carrie Larson Adams at Texas Ridge near Deary. He grew up and attended school there.

In 1935 he married Ruth Evelyn Dyer at Lewiston.

Adams worked for Potlatch Forest Industries as a Caterpillar driver. During this time the family lived at Camp 44 near Avery.

Adams later went to work as a psychiatric aide at State Hospital North in Orofino. He retired after 16 years and then worked for Bennett Logging.

Adams enjoyed building windmills and birdhouses. He loved to fish and be outdoors. He was a member of the Juliaetta Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife at Moscow; three daughters, Karen Waldron of Bovill, Ruth-Mary Chase of Renton, Wash., and Connie Adams of Juliaetta; one son, Brent Adams of Riggins; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a sister; three brothers; a daughter, Joyce Whitlock; three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Viewing will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Elwood Cemetery at Texas Ridge. The Rev. Bob Lambert of the Juliaetta Church of the Nazarene will officiate.

Memorials may be donated to the White Heritage Library in Bovill.
