GROSS, HENNEN posted by Virginia Peter on Tuesday, April 3, 2001
Nicholas HENNEN Looking for information about the Nicholas HENNEN family, who emigrated from Fond du Lac County, WIsconsin to Moscow, Latah County, Idaho, after 1882. Nicholas HENNEN, b, October 27, 1841 in Gillenbeuren, Germany and his wife, Katharina GROSS, b March 22, 1849 in Johnsburg, Wisconsin, had 9 children when they were in Wisconsin, Joseph Mathias, Margaret, Anna Maria, Maria Frances, John Joseph, Anna Margaret, Joseph, Maria Elizabeth and Julie Barbara. They may have had other children born in Idaho. Nicholas was still living in 1917. I have found three Hennens listed on the 1917 draft list for Latah County: John William, Joseph, and William M. At least Joseph appears to be a son of Nicholas. I would like to hear from any descendents of this family to exchange information. I have much information about Nicholas's 5 brothers and families, as well as the original emigrants from Germany to Wisconsin in 1852. Virginia Peter

BOYD, MCDOWELL, OVERFELT, PERKINS posted by Greg Dodson on Wednesday, April 11, 2001
I'm looking for information on Thomas L. Boyd (b. July 27, 1829, d. September 10, 1868) and his wife Nancy J. Overfelt (b. June 23, 1839, d. April 19, 1918) who were married on January 17, 1856, probably in MO. I've been looking all over the country for them, only to find out that at least between 1909 and 1912 they lived in my back yard (Moscow). In 1909, their daughter Mattie (b. August 16, 1858 MO, d. May 20, 1943 WY) first husband David W. Perkins died, and she moved from WY to live with her mother in Moscow. It seems that Mattie married John Rufus McDowell in Moscow on April 26, 1916, and lived there until around 1923. Any help with any of these people would be greatly appreciated!
