Marian H. Morscheck, 71, Dies After Suffering Stroke

Mrs. Marian Hattie Morscheck, 71, a Lewis-Clark Empire resident, most of her life, died yesterday at 12:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital of a stroke. She had been ill 1-1/2 years. She had been a Lewiston resident since 1946 and was living at the Villa Nursing Home at the time of death.

She and her husband, the late Fred W. Morscheck, lived at Genesee from 1921 to 1946. She resided at Clarkston for three years prior to that and at Moscow from 1907 to 1918. Her home was at Gifford in 1906-07.

She was born April 4, 1900, at Tekoa, Wash., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gibbs. She was married to Morscheck Nov. 9, 1921, at Lewiston. They farmed until retiring about 10 years ago, and he died Aug. 5, 1965.

She belonged to the Pythian Sisters at Genesee, the Phileo Club at Clarkston, the Trinity Lutheran Church, Twentieth Century club and the Alpha Study Club at Lewiston.

Survivors include a son, Fred J. Morscheck, Genesee; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Jean Raymond, Lincoln, Ill., and nine grandchildren.

The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Malcom's Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Berentson of Trinity Lutheran Church of Lewiston officiating. Burial will be at Normal Hill Cemetery.
