Vincent Carter, 63, dies in Oregon

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Vincent Carter, husband of a former Genesee resident, Marjorie Linehan Carter, died Sunday at a nursing home here. He was 63.

Carter was office manager for Sandberg Furnace Co. of Portland. He had lived in the Portland area since 1954.

He was born Oct. 17, 1913, at Portland. He served as torpedo operations man with the Navy during World War II.

He was wed to Marjorie Linehan at Genesee Oct. 11, 1952. She survives at the Beaverton home, along with a sister, Mrs. Bill Grosvenor of Kellogg and his step-father, William Cake of Portland.

Viewing hours will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at Short's Funeral Chapel of Moscow.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Genesee Catholic Cemetery with the Rev. William Dahman officiating.

The family suggests memorial donations to Maryville Nursing Home at Beaverton.
